Route after school

Survey 38 - "What route did you take after school?"

Throughout July, we asked our users whether they went straight into work or infact did they choose to take up a trade or go to Uni.

74% of respondents went straight into work, 17% went to University and 9% took up a trade.

Most people obviously wanted to get straight into working, however, we must take note of the vast age range of our users on TipTopJob that consist of those aged 18 to 50+. Today, it will be more likely that people choose to go to Uni with it being a very standard route to take nowadays. Obviously, due to many reasons, University may not be the best route and a lot of people will get stuck into work in order to earn their own money.

We also asked people if they would take a different route if they were to do it all again. One respondent said that if he had the experience and knowledge he had now, that of course he would do it differently. The majority of respondents told TipTopJob they would avoid all the mistakes they had ever made, they would get things right the first time and most importantly they would know what it is they wanted to do! Amusingly, one commented he would not have spent all his money and brain cells in the pub when he was younger.
